Barakat (Sudan Needy Families)

Monthly relief is distributed to approximately 60 extremely impoverished families living in outlying parts of Khartoum, Sudan.

In addition to the assistance, every month, one family receives funding to start a small business of their choice. The goal of this project is to relieve immediate suffering and to empower these families to provide for themselves.

Previous projects include several deep freezers for making and selling frozen refreshments; gas ovens for baking and selling baked goods; several sewing machines, to name a few.
